Research and Planning for a Music Video
Genre - 08/06/17
As I would like to create a music video which demonstrates a natural and realistic story, I have chosen the genre 'Narrative'. This tells the story throughout, helping develop the characters and the plot, allowing the audience to engage. An example music video would be;
This video is a Narrative video as it tells a story of a man and a woman, the video contains an intro between two gentlemen talking, the music then begins to start. Half way through the video, there is a break in the song where the man is yet again speaking and after the music begins again, It is narrative as it follows and features a story
Furthermore my aim for the concept of the video, is for it to be a short story which relates to the song. I feel that this would have a greater impact on the viewers as it will connect and synchronize together, making it more effective.
Mind Map 08/06/17
I have created a mind map which displays various ideas I have come up with, which all relate to a narrative genre. The idea I feel is more realistic and ideal to expose is the 'day to day life of a typical family in London' (bottom left in picture above). I would like to show the true and harsh reality of what is going on in society to make people realise and emphasise with what is going on in the cruel world we live in today.
